Project C.A.R.E.

(Comprehensive Aesthetic Restorative Effort)

As a result of combat trauma and training accidents, a great number of service members suffer major, life-altering injuries, including limb loss and severe disfigurement. Although our wounded Soldiers, Sailors and Marines receive cutting-edge, state-of-the-art care by active duty medical staff, the consequences of these disfiguring injuries can lead to emotional distress and an altered self-image.

ASPS is reaching out to recently discharged military personnel to ensure our injured service men and women receive the same level of care provided by the military as they transition to civilian life. Some ASPS Members, such as Dr. Ray, volunteer for Project C.A.R.E. to provide plastic surgery services to discharged personnel in their hometowns.
